The first one I looked at is called a lens polarizer, sounds complicated but its not. If you have ever worn polarized sunglasses and wished all colors where as vivid when you werent wearing them? Well essentially a lens polarizer is like screwing a giant polarized sunglass to the end of your camera. I cant wait to give it a try with my sky/cloudscape photography, its especially good at enhancing the cool color of the color wheel (blue, green, purple, etc ) They start around $15-30, they are great for high light and vivid skyscape photography.
The second piece of super high tech camera equipment Ill be purchasing is called a UV filter. Although this sounds expensive and extremely technical it isnt. Its basically a dummy lens that fits on the end of your lenses to protect them. Yes thats right something with the name of: UV filter is just a clear piece of glass that will take a chip, smudge, dropping, dust covering, and cleaning in the place of your $800 lens. These only cost around $15-20, which is by all means much more reasonable then replacing the entire glass lens of your camera lens. I highly recommend that any one who values their camera should look at picking one up.
Im starting off small with simple adapters and attachments. Im going to get a role of film some time before the end of next week and use it in my fathers 35mm which he just found some where in storage. He completely forget he had it and his 3 lenses!! Regardless Im still going to get to play with it some time before the end of next week, FILM HERE I COME!
